The Journey

My grandmother passed away back in July 2016. Both of us shared very little interaction while she was alive. After a chit-chat session with Siti Khalijah and Pooja Nansi, I realised that this problem runs true for most of my other friend too.

While my lacking communication is due to a low understanding of my grandmother’s only spoken language, Hokkien, the reasons for Siti and Pooja were different. That sparked an idea, for me to explore intersectionality through a film.

The Challenge

Despite having all the necessary filming equipments, I lack manpower. The full support of a crew includes the like of a camera man, lighting guy and gaffer, to name a few.

In addition, I would love to include animation and special effects as part of the film. I have the expertise but not the right equipment to execute such elements.

The GOAL

I need a technical crew of 5 to assist me in filming this. In addition to that, renting of an editing suite for post-production, animation and special effect is also needed. This amounts to a total of $5,600.
